The
Battenkill
State Forest cradles the Battenkill Valley Outdoors property on
2 sides. A crew of volunteer workers from the Adirondack Mountain
Club, and the Battenkill
Conservancy-NY created a trail in June 2003 leading hikers
toward Peaked Rock. This rock, now off limits by the land owner,
is adjacent to a wonderful view-shed, which still offers a rewarding
destination.
|
The
trail is 5 Miles round trip, and is not without steep challenges.
The views are outstanding as you look across the Battenkill Valley,
Eldridge Swamp, & out toward the Adirondack range.
|
Stop by the shop for a map of the trail, and discover other options
within the So. Washington Co. area including Carter's Pond, Mount
Tom, and others. Our bears will guide you to the trailhead from
our parking area- just a hop over a creek and you intersect the
beginning of the trail.
